i’ve been “restoring” my music library and i am very thankful to the developers of beets (http://beets.io) as it saved me quite a few times from id3 tag hell.
i am also very thankful to musicbrainz, and would like to start contributing release data to them as i think that every deserves good id3 tags.
TIL: you can configure a #git remote with multiple push URLs.
It basically allows you to push to multiple remotes at once.
new scheme to help me be lazy in public
thinking about getting “business” cards made so i never have to spell out my personal information to civil servants/customer service representatives who need it for reasons. i could see how someone might argue this is dehumanizing but i dunno. it may reduce data entry errors and no one would have to listen to me sing my “surname song” ever again.
Someone I work with wrote this guide to ANSI escape codes and it is good and on-brand for making little terminal things which are nice:
made my first [code] pull request to an open-source project where i don’t know any of the authors/maintainers: https://github.com/jekyll/jekyll-feed/pull/261 i hooope it gets merrrged.
angry handmaid’s tale s2 rant
yeah well for me s1 was “good-bad” tv but s2 really devolved into uninspired dystopia porn. “let’s torture some folks in this cool future we have built up.” “let’s make ham-fisted attempts to emote our audience using things that pretend to be close to home.” etc. not classy imo.
a reiterated rant, in miniature:

if you have any remaining hope for the web: i sort of envy you.
