I have previously dabbled with the idea of creating this game I came up with called The Void. It's an exploration/puzzle #pixelart game.
I am considering picking this project back up and working on it again. I didn't do much aside from initial idea planning and a couple of pixel art concepts.
I also don't know how to make games, but I was thinking of learning #godot to build it.
@SandPaper I actually went back and forth on this and decided top down would be best for puzzles, so I'll probably go that route.
@0x4464 makes sense. If you need a sounding board/feedback, let me know. Unfortunately I don't have experience with godot but there appears to be sizeable community on here.
@SandPaper Oh yeah, I'll probably need help with sounds eventually, because I don't have any experience with anything like that. I'll reach out when I'm to a point where something like that is needed :)
My skills end at pixel art and writing code. I've tried dabbling in creating chiptune music using LSDJ and Nanoloop (for android), but I'm not very musically inclined haha
@0x4464 sound and music always seem to come last on anything I do and always feels disconnected or tacked on; which of course they are. Don't discount starting early on it as music is integral to the mood you want to set overall and in particular scenes/environments.
I'm best at texturing. I primarily work with Unity and do 3d modelling.
@0x4464 The Void is already the name of a videogame
@Efi Oh huh, that's unfortunate. I didn't realize that.
Man, and so is "Into the Void". I'm going to have to come up with something else..
@0x4464 The Tallest Void
@Efi Or maybe Voidy McVoid Void 😂
@0x4464 Top down? Side scrolling?
